Sim-Plates is a library of video content for Virtual Production Car Process.

Road Trip!

We were recently apart of a short film called Road Trip, created by Lumostage in Vancouver.

We used Sim-Plates for all of the backgrounds in this film and specifically shot many scenes that would have been impossible with traditional, camera captured plates. Read the full blog post.

Our Sim-Plates use Photo-Real CG Rendering techniques. Featured here is Desert - Sunset at E11 LED Stage in Hollywood, Ca.

Photo-Real

All of our Sim-Plates are rendered with Blender and use OctaneRender Engine, which is an unbiased, photo-real render engine.

They are NOT rendered with a game-engine.

360 Seamless

All of our Sim-Plates are at least 8k resolution, full 360 panoramic and seamless.

Looping

Most of our Sim-Plates loop seamlessly, so you never see a cut point.

Stable

Traditionally shot plates are very difficult to stabilize properly.

When shooting on a Virtual Production stage, even the slightest bump can feel like bad rear projection.

All of our Sim-Plates are fully stabilized.

Cloud Rendering

We leverage cloud computing with The Render Network, which allow us to render across hundreds of GPUs at a time.
